What's On in the Barossa in November 2026: Events Calendar

Every checked Barossa event for November 2026: the Barossa Rodeo (14 Nov), Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road (20 Nov), the Tanunda Christmas Shopping Night (19 Nov), markets, and how to get there without driving.

Updated October 2026

The Barossa has three headline public events in November 2026: the Barossa Rodeo (Saturday 14 November, Lyndoch), Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road (Friday 20 November, 4–8pm) and the Tanunda Christmas Shopping Night with the Barossa Makers & Beyond Market (Thursday 19 November). Around them you’ll find the Saturday-morning Barossa Farmers Market in Angaston, a daily Seppeltsfield 175th Anniversary tasting, an Open Gardens SA weekend at Corryton Park (14–15 November) and a run of smaller markets. If you can only do one weekend, do 13–15 November. If you can only do one evening, make it 20 November. Two events that appear on other lists need correcting: the IWFS Barossa Valley Festival (6–8 November) is members-only and fully booked, and One Voice at the Barossa Arts Centre is on 5 December, not 7 November.

The calendar below is for the Barossa Wine Tour: Small Group 8 max, Rare, Unique, & Lunch ($187, 4.9/5 from 150 reviews). It collects you from your door anywhere in Adelaide or the valley, caps the day at eight guests and includes every tasting fee, which makes it an easy way to fill the daytime before an evening event without anyone driving. Tour prices are the USD figures GetYourGuide charges; event tickets are in A$.

What are the biggest Barossa events in November 2026?

Barossa Rodeo: Saturday 14 November (confirmed)

What it is: A timed-event rodeo (team roping, breakaway roping, barrel racing and steer wrestling) on a rural property next to Barossa Helicopters, just outside Lyndoch. Organisers describe it as “family-friendly” with “market stalls, live music, delicious food trucks, and a licensed bar”. Covers band Urban Cover plays after the arena action.

  • Where: 261 Hoffnungsthal Road, Lyndoch SA 5351
  • When: Gates open 12pm. Barossa Australia’s listing says the arena action starts at 2pm, and one ticket listing gives a finish around 10pm.
  • Tickets: Online only through Ticketebo. Its Barossa Rodeo 2026 listing gives adults (18+) at A$25 plus a $1 booking fee, children 6–17 at A$12 plus a $0.48 booking fee, and children 5 and under free. Check the current price when you book.
  • Sells out? Yes. Barossa Australia says that “following a sold-out event in 2025, advance bookings are highly recommended, with tickets available online only.”
  • Need to know: No BYO, and no pass-outs: once you’re in, you can’t leave and come back. Companion Card holders’ support people get in free. Helicopter rides run on site.
  • Pair it with: A morning at the Barossa Farmers Market, then a southern-Barossa cellar door lunch before the gates open. Book a driver so nobody has to stay sober for the drive home on country roads after dark, or take one of the rodeo buses Ticketebo sells (A$30 per person plus booking fee) from the Barossa Visitor Information Centre in Tanunda, the Lyndoch Hotel, the Williamstown Hotel and Gawler. The bus ticket “does not allow entry into the Rodeo”, so buy an entry ticket as well.

For a driver of your own on rodeo day, the Adelaide: Barossa Private Wine Tour + Your Chosen Tastings ($419 for up to two people) lets you choose the wineries; it has only 4 reviews so far, all 5 stars, so read them before you book.

Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road: Friday 20 November (confirmed)

What it is: The Seppeltsfield Road Business Alliance closes its palm-lined stretch of road to traffic for four hours of tasting, eating and strolling as the sun drops behind the vines. It’s the most photogenic event of the Barossa year and our top pick for November.

  • Where: Seppeltsfield Road Palm Trees (ticketing address 195 Radford Road, Seppeltsfield SA 5355)
  • When: 4–8pm
  • Who’s pouring (per the Eventbrite listing): Paulmara Estates, Hentley Farm, Two Hands Wines, The Cutting, Torbreck, Curator Wine Co, Whistler, Izway Wines, Barossa Valley Estate, Prohibition Liquor Co, Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, Seppeltsfield and Greenock Creek, plus Keg Runner and Vasse Virgin. Food comes from Uncle K and Co, Barossa Valley Ice Cream Company, The People Vs Coffee, Asian Tucker, Smokey Upercuts and more.
  • Tickets: Eventbrite. Prices are modest, and the ticket includes a Spiegelau wine glass. Under-18s free. Refunds are available up to 14 days before. In 2025 tickets were also sold through participating wineries; check the current price.
  • Need to know: No BYO food or alcohol. The road is closed between Radford Road and Kraehe Road, with parking at either end and designated drop-off zones.
  • Pair it with: This is the easiest event of the month to pair with a tour. A driver can drop you at one end and collect you at the other, which saves you walking back to a car park in the dark.

The private wine tour with your chosen tastings covers that drop-off; if you’d rather share the day with a few others before going on to the event, the eight-guest small-group tour costs less per person.

Tanunda Christmas Shopping Night + Barossa Makers & Beyond Market: Thursday 19 November (date confirmed; times reported)

What it is: The Barossa’s unofficial start to Christmas. Tanunda’s traders stay open late and the Barossa Visitor Centre runs a twilight makers’ market in the Town Square. In 2025 The Barossa Council described “nearly 30 businesses” staying open, plus a Kids’ Christmas Trail.

  • Where: Tanunda Town Square precinct, 66 Murray Street, Tanunda SA 5352
  • When: Thursday 19 November 2026, according to Barossa Australia’s markets calendar. Third-party listings give a 4pm start, which matches the 4–8pm format in 2024 and 2025; check the hours nearer the date.
  • Cost: Free in previous years. Family-friendly.
  • Pair it with: Stay overnight in Tanunda and you can walk to it, then do Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road the next evening.

Which Barossa November events sell out?

The Rosé Rodeo Festival has already gone, and the Barossa Rodeo is the next most at risk. The 2026 Rosé Rodeo Festival, a consumer day celebrating Riverland and Barossa rosé at Hoffmann Family Vineyards in Ebenezer, is already shown as “Sold out” on Humanitix. The IWFS Barossa Valley Festival is a members-only weekend for the International Wine & Food Society, and its own events page lists it as “Fully Booked – Join the Waitlist”, so don’t plan a trip around it. The Barossa Rodeo sold out in 2025. Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road has fixed capacity on a closed road, so buy those tickets early too.

Our rule of thumb: if it’s ticketed and on a Friday night or a Saturday, book it the day you book your accommodation.

What’s on at Seppeltsfield for its 175th anniversary?

Seppeltsfield’s 175th-anniversary year (it was founded in 1851) gives November visitors a bookable tasting every day of the month. The Luxury Collection Tasting, 175th Anniversary Edition is listed by Barossa Australia with 11am sessions every day from late October through to early December, booked direct with Seppeltsfield. The anniversary is tied to the release of the 1926 Para 100 Year Old Vintage Tawny, the 49th consecutive release from the Centennial Cellar, which Matthew Jukes noted makes it “the only winery in the world to continue releasing a 100-year-old wine every single year since 1978”. The flagship Centennial Cellar long lunch (“A Taste of Time”) took place in May during Tasting Australia, so it isn’t on in November.

Fino Seppeltsfield has a Friday Night Dinner on 20 November, the last date in its 2026 programme. It’s the same night as Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road, so book early if you want both. Expect premium pricing. In the first Michelin Guide South Australia, announced on 14 October 2026, Fino received a Bib Gourmand.

If you’d like Seppeltsfield as part of a guided day, the Barossa Tour from Adelaide: 4 Tastings & Lunch Included ($122, 4.7/5 from 308 reviews) visits the Avenue of Palms and the Centennial Cellar.

What else is on: markets, gardens and small events

  • Barossa Farmers Market runs every Saturday, 7.30–11.30am, in the Vintners Sheds at 740 Stockwell Road, Angaston (corner of Stockwell and Angaston Roads). It’s food-only and mostly undercover. Barossa Australia promotes it as “Breakfast like a Barossan”. Arrive before 9am for the best of the bakery stalls.
  • Golden Griffin Markets at Corryton Burge (cnr Krondorf and Lilyfarm Roads): Barossa Australia promises “a relaxed evening overlooking the vines, with delicious food trucks, live music and Corryton Burge wines”. Fri 13 Nov 2026, 5–9pm, free, no bookings, no BYO was reported to us, but we couldn’t confirm it from the event page. Check before you go.
  • Corryton Park Homestead Open Garden, Sat 14 – Sun 15 Nov, at 325 Wirra Wirra Road, Pewsey Vale (Eden Valley side). Open Gardens SA describes “an impressive and elegant house and garden with rolling hills, grape vines, lawns and majestic gums”.
  • Fantasy Festival at Barossa Fun Factory, Sat 7 – Sun 8 Nov (final weekend, 10am and 1pm sessions). Kids get a “Fantasy Passport” for wand-making, flower crowns and crafts.
  • Gawler Makers Market, Sun 8 Nov, from 10am, in the air-conditioned Gawler Civic Centre.
  • Lyndoch Community Market, Sat 14 Nov. Easy to combine with the rodeo.
  • Kapunda Rodeo, Sat 21 Nov, at the Kapunda Harness Racing Complex: from 12pm, arena action from 3pm, live music from 9.30pm. The Kapunda Harness Racing Club says “the last Kapunda rodeo saw a massive SOLD OUT crowd”, so buy early. It’s at 41 Hancock Road, Kapunda, which the club describes as “only 50 minutes north of Adelaide”.
  • Barossa Arts Centre: there’s no public show in November. The only 7 November booking is a private Faith Lutheran College reunion. The next public shows are One Voice (Sat 5 Dec) and The Greatest Christmas Show (Sat 12 Dec).

Can I combine Barossa events with Adelaide in November?

Yes. The obvious pairing is Saturday 14 November. The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant steps off at 9.30am in the Adelaide CBD. It’s free, and the organiser says it has been “the traditional start to the Christmas season in South Australia” since 1933, with a live broadcast on Channel 9. Families who come to Adelaide for the Pageant can head to the Barossa that afternoon (the Barossa Rodeo gates stay open from noon) or on Sunday for the Corryton Park open garden. Our Barossa wine tour vs self-drive guide covers the trip up from Adelaide.

How do I get to Barossa events without driving?

Book a tour or a driver. MyLicence SA’s Driver’s Handbook says learner, provisional and probationary licence holders “must stick to a zero Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)”, and full licence holders must not drive with a BAC of 0.05 or more. Several of these events also finish at dusk, on unlit country roads. Your options:

  1. Small-group tour from Adelaide. Best for daytime cellar door hopping before an evening event. The Adelaide: Premium Barossa Wine tasting, Lunch & Chocolate tour ($132, 4.8/5 from more than 1,500 reviews) is the most-reviewed full day, with four tastings and lunch.
  2. Private driver or custom tour. Best for Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road (use the drop-off zones at either end of the closure) and rodeo day (no pass-outs means you’re there until you leave for good). The private tour with your chosen tastings is priced for up to two people.
  3. Stay walkable. Book in Tanunda for the Christmas Shopping Night, or in Angaston for the farmers market and parade.
  4. Hot-air balloon at dawn, event at dusk. On a two-night stay, a sunrise flight on Saturday or Sunday morning pairs well with an evening event the night before. Check that the balloon pick-up time works around a late night. Barossa Balloon Adventures and Barossa Valley Ballooning both fly year-round, weather permitting.

Taxis and rideshare in the Barossa are limited, especially on event nights. Pre-book your return trip. Our comparison of the wine bus, a private driver and self-driving sets out the costs of each.

Where should I stay on Barossa event weekends?

  • For Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road: Western Barossa (Seppeltsfield, Marananga, Greenock) or Tanunda. A transfer home from the road takes minutes.
  • For the Barossa Rodeo: Lyndoch or Rowland Flat (southern Barossa). The Novotel Barossa Valley Resort at Rowland Flat is the area’s biggest hotel.
  • For the Tanunda Christmas night: central Tanunda, so you can walk.
  • For the farmers market and Angaston parade: Angaston or the Eden Valley edge.

Booking advice: 13–15 Nov and 20–21 Nov will be the tightest weekends. Book refundable accommodation now and lock it in once your event tickets are confirmed.

A November weekend around the events (Fri 13 – Sun 15 Nov)

Friday 13 November

  • Arrive mid-afternoon and check in around Tanunda.
  • Twilight at the Golden Griffin Markets at Corryton Burge, if confirmed. If not, have dinner in Tanunda.

Saturday 14 November

  • 7.30am: Breakfast at the Barossa Farmers Market, Angaston.
  • 10am: Two southern-Barossa cellar doors on a booked tour or with a driver. Our wine tasting prices guide covers what the cellar doors charge.
  • 12pm–late: Barossa Rodeo, Lyndoch. Get there for the 2pm action and stay for the band.

Sunday 15 November

  • Morning: Corryton Park Homestead Open Garden, Pewsey Vale.
  • 11am: Seppeltsfield Luxury Collection Tasting (175th edition), or the 2pm yoga and sound session at Peter Lehmann’s Old Redemption Cellar.
  • Late afternoon: drive back to Adelaide with a sober driver, or take a transfer.

Alternative: Thu 19 – Sat 21 Nov. That’s the Tanunda Christmas night, then Sunset on Seppeltsfield Road (with a Fino dinner if you can get both), then the farmers market and the Kapunda Rodeo.
